When properly approached, growing cannabis can be a very personal and fulfilling process that produces benefits like knowledge and freshly grown medicine. Consuming cannabis can be very enjoyable and medicinally useful, but not everyone who enjoys it knows exactly how it’s grown. Regardless of previous experience, anyone that’s passionate about growing world-class cannabis can learn to do so at the CannaGrow Expo. This two day event in San Diego, California is dedicated to the science and education of cannabis cultivation so that anyone can be an informed consumer and cultivator. Anyone who attends the expo on May 7th and 8th will learn about the influence of pesticides, bad lighting, poor fertilizer, and other components on the final product. Knowing these things makes someone a better cultivator and therefore an enlightened consumer.

What Is There To Learn About Growing Cannabis?

Pesticides

Pesticides are used to prevent spider mites, aphids and other insects from wreaking havoc on plants, but can be very harmful for the environment, those who works with them, and those who consume them. Because the federal government classifies it as a schedule one narcotic, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) holds no restrictions on the use of pesticides in the cultivation of cannabis. Therefore, it’s the cultivator’s job to educate themselves on the ways to avoid using pesticides in the process to keep themselves and the people around them healthier. Being aware of the shortcuts in pesticides can prevent you from harming yourself in the future with contaminated flowers or extracts.

Poor fertilizer can stunt your cannabis’ growth and quality

When used correctly, fertilizers help produce strong and healthy cannabis plants by improving the immune system, increasing growth in vegetative and flowering stages, and increasing the yield of resinous buds. Nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium are crucial to the development of root growth and bud development but are supposed to be according to a strict schedule. Possessing this knowledge will stop you from wasting time and energy in the future and instead result in the medicine you’re looking for.

Bad lighting will make your herb smaller

Light is essential to the growth of any plant, and cannabis is no exception. Outdoor growth relies on the sun, while indoor growing operations require synthesized energy in the form of different bulbs to get the job done. The variety of bulbs ranges from fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights, LED grow lights,  high intensity discharge lamps, or high pressure sodium lights. Each kind has a specific purpose for certain situations, and having the right combination is necessary for the health of your herb.
