Visitors and residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas were granted visual access, Wednesday, to what may be the most publicized April Fools joke of 2015.
A sign advertising a marijuana dispensary was displayed on an abandoned EZ Mart building on College Avenue.
The sign claimed that it was the future home of what would be Arkansas first marijuana dispensary, serving both medical and recreational customers, and would open business doors on April 20. The sign also promised that the product sold would be home grown in Arkansas.
Considering that marijuana is still very illegal in the Natural State, this prank must have been quite confusing for any passerby.
Jeff Upton had the pleasure of watching people stop to photograph the sign throughout the day while he was working next door at the C & E Lock and Safe. Although he does not know who was responsible for the prank, Upton told KNWA,
“We didn’t even know about it until a customer came and told us.
Kudos to the merry prankster for pulling off a harmless, yet effective April Fools gag.
