As the cannabis prohibition era slowly fades away in the United States, many entrepreneurs are looking for new ways to expand the industry. Medicinal and recreational retail shops are opening frequently in legal states, cannabis technology companies are finding their niche, and new lines of apparel and accessories are popping up everywhere.
Now, a cafe in Phoenix is expanding into less-explored territory. Hempful Farms Cafe & Shop serves cannabinoid enriched food and beverages to customers of all ages from it’s new location at 14620 N Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix.
Hemp provides nutrition that is tough to find elsewhere from just one source. It is rich in all 10 essential amino acids, and it is packed with Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids.
Hemp is also high in cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis that has been proven to significantly reduce and even halt seizures in patients suffering from epilepsy. The CBD found in Hempful’s food and beverages comes from hemp.
According to Star, a cheeful Hempful Farms employee,
“The beverages are infused with a hemp based protein powder.”
This allows for limitless options. The hemp powder can literally be added to any of the coffees, espresso drinks, juices, teas and smoothies that are served at Hempful Farms. Star recommended adding hemp hearts and seeds to yogurt or oatmeal for a nutrition-filled way to start the day.
Hemp flour is used to infuse meals for breakfast and lunch. “Hempseed oatmeal with granola and fresh fruit,” “Ham and swiss frittata with green apples and granola,” and “One egg, biscuits with gravy and hash browns” are just a few of the breakfast items available at Hempful Farms.
Lunch offerings include “Build A Burger: Turkey or veggy patty on brioche with choice of topping and sweet potato chips,” “Veggie Wrap: Spicy dipping sauce with fresh fruit,” and “Best Grilled Cheese Ever: Bacon, tomato, cheese with side.”
Self-described as the first “Cracker Barrel style hemp infused cafe and shop,” Hempful Farms offers more than nutritionally balanced food and beverages. Attached to the cafe is the shop where guests can peruse a whole line of hemp and cannabidiol (CBD) infused topicals and tinctures. They also offer a variety of hemp textiles, clothing, accessories and more.
It will be very interesting to see how many more cafes follow the lead of Hempful Farms and begin adding more hemp and cannabinoid enriched food and beverages to menus in the future.
