Owners of the Human Collective medical marijuana dispensary in Southwest Portland never knew ordering a sign for their store would be so difficult.
Morse originally met with the local Yesco sale representative Sharyl Herigstad, providing her with proposed designs that she later approved and submitted for a bid. The next time that Morse and Sara Bennett (co-owner) heard from Herigstad was when she informed them corporate officials rejected the job.
“Corporate said, ‘We don’t do business with marijuana.”
While they might not do business with marijuana, the Mormon owned company touts their work with Las Vegas casinos, major sport stadiums, and large corporations.
“They steadfastly refused to build us a sign.”
Morse said. Other businesses in the same shopping plaza stated they’ve had similar issues with Yesco.
