Anyone traveling on Interstate 70 in Lafayette County, Missouri around 3:30pm on Tuesday witnessed something most people will never have the opportunity to see in their lifetime — 400 pounds of marijuana chocolate bars.
A 42 year old man from Ladera Ranch, CA named Jeffrey J. Woo was traveling east on I-70 near mile marker 40 when he was pulled over by a Missouri state trooper. Although Woo was only stopped for a simple traffic violation, the officer reported that Woo displayed suspicious behavior during initial questioning. During further interrogation, Woo allegedly provided the trooper with inconsistent answers.
The trooper reported that he asked for permission to search the 2015 Infiniti QX60 after Woo displayed the “deceptive” behavior when answering questions. Woo granted the trooper permission to search the vehicle.
The 400 pounds of marijuana infused chocolates were contained inside boxes in the back of the vehicle. As a result of finding the cargo, Woo was arrested for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Woo will still be granted a day in court to examine the evidence of the case before he is found innocent or guilty. Meanwhile, he is being held in Missouri at the Lafayette County jail.
