The first cannabis product retail store in the United Kingdom recently opened doors for business in Twickenham, south London.
Carun Pharmacy will not be selling dried marijuana flowers, but rather shelves will be stocked with a variety of health and beauty products enriched with hemp, the strain of cannabis that is extremely low in the psychoactive cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Carun, a manufacturer and distributor of hemp-based pharmaceuticals and cosmetics originating in the Czech Republic, assures consumers that the products they provide will not satisfy those who are looking to get high, and zero of their products can be smoked.
Managing director of Carun Pharmacy London, Michal Takac, reports:
“These support our immune system; restore the balance and health of cells as well as possessing anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibiotic properties.”
“But no… they will not and cannot make you high.”
The variety of health and beauty products, such as lotions, creams, soaps and oils, available for purchase at Carun Pharmacy in south London are able to treat such skin ailments as psoriasis, allergies, and wrinkles, among others. Also available to consumers will be products such as mouth wash, hemp protein powder, and hemp pasta.
The store is expected to do very well in this location, and may even help to broaden the views of those still fearful of the cannabis plant portrayed in the Reefer Madness Era.
