A voice-over actress in southern California, Lisa Lee, says that the smell of marijuana has been wafting into her bedroom for an entire year, getting exponentially worse as time has passed. The smell is so overwhelming that Lee says she experiences a contact-high of sorts.
In an explanation to NBC, Lee says that when she chooses to sleep in her bedroom, she often wakes up feeling ill.
“I feel kind of hung over and have a migraine all day.”
To avoid feeling this way, Lee reported that she most often chooses to sleep on the couch in her living room instead. However, even when sleeping on the couch, the smell has caused her to wake up in the middle of the night.
Her luxury apartment building in Studio City has a no smoking-policy, and building representatives have issued notices to all residents reminding them not to break the rules.
The maintenance team at her Windsor Lofts complex have also made several attempts to quell the smell. They even removed a pocket door near where the smell seems to originate to insulate and seal the area, but that did not fix the problem.
By the way that Lee describes how the smell permeates without ever seeing actual smoke, it may be possible that a grow operation is causing the smell, or perhaps it is something else all together. Lee is not sure exactly what is causing the smell, but she claims that it smell just like “high-grade” cannabis.
Unfortunately for Lee, local police are not able to knock on any doors to ask questions because this smell cannot be detected from any of the hallways, in which Lee has conducted walking inspections many times.
