In Denver, we are lucky enough to have thousands of nonprofit organizations that help people, animals, and the environment in our community when and where they are needed. A few of these worthy, small nonprofits are Project Ava (sharing meaningful stories that inspire change), Jeffco Students First (improved learning based on truth), The Matthew Shepard Foundation (teaching tolerance), worldchildcancer.us, and Café Cultura (indigenous identity and expression through spoken word) – all of which are supported by a fantastic organization called Denver Gives.
How Does Denver Gives Help?
Denver Gives is a local nonprofit company dedicated to assisting, educating, networking, advising, and offering the best business success resources to Denver’s small nonprofits through workshops, actionable goals, and business strategies – all free of charge. Watch their video here. The goal of Denver Gives is to progress the work of all of Denver’s small nonprofits, not just a select few. After all, there are many nonprofits doing good work toward positive change in their communities. Think back to when your business was just starting; there were many people who supported you, gave you advice – some was useful, and some was not. The pure power of knowledge and education in the industry – as well as sharing that information – partially drove the success of your business. Small nonprofits in Denver now have that support, and Denver Gives wants to continue to provide consulting services and workshops to the people who drive Colorado’s nonprofits every day.
What You Can Do to Support Small Nonprofits in Denver
This week is 420GivesBack Week, when Denver Gives raises 100% of its Denver Gives Week operating costs and begins partnering with the 420 business community in Denver. Although many charities in Denver may be unable to accept contributions from cannabis business leaders such as yourself, Denver Gives can, and will, on behalf of those small nonprofits. Denver Gives will provide 420 consumers and cannabis industry leaders with a crowdfunding platform for 420-friendly nonprofit organizations and throw Party for a Purpose! — a concert consisting of local bands and catering to young professionals over the age of 21. The goal for Colorado Gives Day is to raise $420,000 and initiate awareness for small and local nonprofits in the Denver area. Denver Gives has a unique purpose, a unique approach, and can help more than a few charities at once. If you are a cannabis business owner, leader in the industry, or a cannabis consumer who wants to change the way society addresses nonprofits and support action where you live, 420GivesBack is the perfect place to start. Happy 420, and remember everyone in your community who celebrates it with you.
