Did President Obama’s Daughter Smoke Weed at Lollapalooza?

All of us like to enjoy a joint or two at an outdoor concert – I mean, what better time to indulge? You’ve got the music, the pretty lights, the hot sweaty co-concert-goers, and it’s WAY more fun that a boring old DNC speech, after all. I know I would light up – and I’m sure most of us would. Unfortunately, when you’re the daughter of the President of the United States, that means a video that some crazy white girl took of herself trying to look sexy for no obvious reason will immediately go viral and be posted all over the Internet. That includes at perezhilton.com, twitter feeds, TMZ, and various respectable news sources like the Chicago Tribune, the Kansas City Star, and The Root.

Did Malia Miss the DNC for Lollapalooza?

She sure did, and if I was 18 years old, I would have, too. Let’s see…when I was 18 was I smoking pot? Yes, yes I was. And so were all my friends and my boyfriend, only that was at Red Rocks, not Lollapalooza…no, wait. I ALSO smoked pot at Lollapalooza at the tender age of 18! Will you look at that! Me, Malia Obama, and about five hundred thousand other women attended a Lollapalooza concert that same year. What a coincidence! I can’t tell you how many concerts I’ve chosen to go to rather than do responsible things in life, but I can tell you I’ve seen an awful lot of amazing music, something I wouldn’t trade for the world. It seems that Malia felt the same way. That’s not to say that the DNC isn’t important, especially when Trump is a presidential candidate, but you know what I mean.

Who is Chance the Rapper?

(Source)

That’s right, Malia was there to see South Side Chicago’s own Chance the Rapper – the Obamas are also from the South Side, according to the Chicago Tribune. Chance the Rapper is the guy who wrote the soundtrack and performed it for the Nike “Unlimited Together” video. Never seen it before today, but it’s actually quite beautiful. Chance’s Soundcloud features tunes with Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz among others. I may just light up a joint right now and listen to Acid Rap or Coloring Book. Chance has a little brother, also in the hip-hop business, named Taylor Bennett. Their father, Ken Williams-Bennett was an aide in Chicago and worked for the POTUS when he was merely Illinois Senator. Chance was heavily into soul and jazz prior to the release of Kanye’s The College Dropout, and West’s album was the first hip-hop he ever purchased. It seems that Chance was also into cannabis, since he was suspended from Jones College Prep High School in 2011 for possession on campus. It seems that Malia and Chance the Rapper have more than one thing in common, and it’s not secret service escorts to concerts – at least not yet.
