One Olympia, Washington bar is on the front lines of the cannabis movement. Frankie’s Sports Pub, owned by Frankie Schnarrs, has been allowing patrons to smoke cannabis inside the establishment.
The state’s liquor and cannabis board feels that Frankie’s is in violation of a law which states “It is unlawful for any person to conduct or maintain a marijuana club.” Schnarrs feels his private room is different and distinct from a marijuana club, and not in violation of the law.
He feels so strongly in fact, that he continued to sell alcohol and allow cannabis smoking during the five day suspension which was handed down by the board as a punishment for allowing cannabis consumption inside his establishment.
His feelings of righteousness run so deep that he feels he is being harassed by the Government and has sued to have them cease and desist.
Schnarrs spoke on his deeply rooted beliefs saying, “There is no violation of the Liquor Board. It’s all in their head.”

Standing his ground with respectable resolution he also dared the board to try to stop him proclaiming, “I want them to take my license from me. They can go to Hell. Get out of here. Get off my property.”
This is not the first time Frankie’s has walked the line between legal and illegal. Back about 10 years ago the bar led the fight against the state indoor smoking ban. Schnarrs opened a “private club” which allowed smoking inside his bar. This approach successfully skirted the law.
If every citizen in America had 1% of the resolute determination that Schnarrs has, we would have ended cannabis prohibition long ago!
