In most cases, when you hear that someone is burning marijuana, you might think that means that they are smoking a joint or a bowl. You may even be impressed to hear that someone is burning a quantity as large as 100 pounds.
This is not most cases.
The Islamist rebel group, ISIS or Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant recently released footage of members burning 100 pounds (50kg) of cannabis.
The footage, posted on a “radical Islamic website,” was reportedly recorded inside the ancient Syrian city of Aleppo, in the village of Characola.
The still photos of the footage (shown below) depict men dressed in camouflage carting the marijuana out to the burn site using a wheelbarrow. Once the dried cannabis flowers are piled up, the men add cardboard boxes before pouring a flammable liquid on top. One man even continues to pour the flammable liquid onto the fire once it is already burning, risking the chance that the flames could engulf the container in his hands.
Unlike some other terrorist organization that charge cultivators a fee to grow crops like marijuana, this rebel group despises all drugs, including the naturally growing cannabis plant.
