Kindness & Cannabis: How One Cannabis Company is Helping the World

By Sponsored Post | January 19, 2017

There’s a lot of talk in the cannabis industry about helping people, animals, and other good causes in our crazy world – but very few organizations walk the walk. The Kind Pen is an organization that does, as you can see from the video below. (It made me cry. Twice.) Being treated like a human is invaluable, no matter where you put your head at night. The #BEKIND and #RandomActOfKINDness campaigns from The Kind Pen are ongoing campaigns to help people in need in the United States. The Kind Pen is a personal vaporizer pen company that won High Times’ best vaporizer in 2016, and sells many different kinds of cannabis and cannabis product vaporizers, both in stores and online. Cannabis companies are making money hand over fist, and really have no reason not to give some of that green to people who really need it, right?

What is The Kind Pen?

The Kind Pen is based in New Jersey, and you can find a dispensary or retail location that sells its products in many states, including four locations here in Colorado. Other locations for buying Kind Pen products are in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Missouri, Minneapolis, Illinois, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. With the new legalization laws that are going into effect this year, look for more Kind Pen products at your local dispensaries. The Kind Pen’s products range from herbal vaporizers, concentrate vaporizers, e-liquid vaporizers, and oil vaporizers, and come in a plethora of styles and colors to fit every occasion.

What is Vaping?

Vaping is a good option no matter where you live, and is perfectly acceptable in legal marijuana states and states with medical marijuana laws in effect. Vape pens essentially heat up the marijuana or marijuana products with an internal heater. This allows you to smoke marijuana without the damaging heat going into your lungs or any harsh coughing afterwards. Vape pens were originally designed to resemble a pen, so they are inconspicuous and easy to hold. In other words, you can put one anywhere you can put a regular writing pen – which makes them easy to stow in a pocket, purse, or other carrying accessory. Vape pens use rechargeable batteries for heating up herbal products, including marijuana and marijuana products, and include a mouthpiece and an atomizer that does the heating. There is no learning curve for beginning users since all you do is push a button and inhale, and pens can be used repeatedly on a single charge. You can use vaporizers to quit smoking tobacco, and buy nicotine blends to help you stop smoking cigarettes. The vapor produced by vape pens is less noxious than regular cigarettes, and doesn’t disturb those rare people that dislike the smell of burning cannabis. The Kind Pen vape pens have a lifetime warranty, as well, so you don’t have to worry about buying another one in case you want a different style.

What are the #RandomActsOfKINDness & the #BEKIND Campaigns?

The RandomActsofKINDness and the BEKIND campaign was started by the Kind Pen to give back a little to the communities that support their sales and help people who don’t have much through, well, random acts of kindness. In the YouTube video, you can see that Ana Montana and Ace from the Kind Pen have teamed up to help a homeless man in Los Angeles for one evening and night, and get him the California state identification and other documentation he needs to find a job. Although Wayne, the man they are helping in the video is a bit camera shy (who wouldn’t be) and doesn’t know what to make of the situation at first, he soon comes around and realizes they are trying to help him. Throughout the evening and the video, footage of Wayne picking out expensive clothes; dining, having a beer, and talking about his life and situation with Ana and the Ace moved me – and humanized the homeless population in general, which is a serious and sad situation here in Colorado, as well.

Knowing that Wayne got to sleep in a nice hotel room for a night and was treated like the intelligent, thoughtful, and kind person he is makes me feel a little better about the world. Look for more #RandomActsOfKINDness videos from The Kind Pen – they will be releasing one every month. The campaign is a great reminder of how community outreach and being kind can be a part of the cannabis community. #BEKIND and donate to other worthy projects like the ASPCA, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Wounded Warrior Project if you can, and be well.
