According to Denver police, one man — John Petitt — was arrested in a bust that uncovered more than 70 lbs of marijuana and 20 firearms on Friday.
Officials reported that the arrest of the 59 year old Colorado man was part of an undercover sting operation due to suspicion of distribution of marijuana on a felony level. Allegedly, he was in possession of well over the legal limit.
Last Friday, the Denver Police Department leaked that the private residence in question is at 1360 Foxton Road in Jefferson County. Apparently, this is the largest drug bust to occur in that residential area in Colorado history.
The Denver police officers, in cooperation with the local Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered several illegal items including an un-licensed cultivation center that violated state law along with a lab for extracting hash oil. Authorities also confiscated more than 500 cannabis plants, at least 50 lbs of packaged marijuana ready for distribution, and at least 20 guns.
In response to request for further information, the Denver Police spokesperson reported that the investigation is still in progress, and that the evidence uncovered in the remainder of the operation will be sent to the office of the Denver District Attorney in order to process formal charges.
