Former Alaskan U.S. Senator, Mike Gravel, has entered the marijuana private sector, joining fellow politician Gary Johnson. Gravel has accepted the position as CEO of KUSH. KUSH is a subsidiary of Cannabis Sativa Inc., the producer of the infused lozenge called the Kubby. Gary Johnson is the CEO of Cannabis Sativa Inc., the company that owns KUSH.

A long time critic of the war on drugs, Gravel is known for challenging Nixon about signing the Controlled Substances act of 1970. Gravel currently sits on the Board of Directors of Cannabis Sativa Inc., so he should be familiar with the current legalization and dispensing environment.

Gravel reported,

“I’m anxious to assist in bringing this important resource to a broader market in a serious and credible way.”

Anytime former politicians join the private sector it is fair to be skeptical, especially with the recent news that Johnson is debating a 2016 presidential bid.

Currently, Cannabis Sativa Inc. has two brands listed on their website, Hi Lozenges and Wild Earth Naturals. It will be interesting to see how things develop as the next November election season approaches.
