Those who visit Denver for a taste of its marijuana-friendly culture now have a new place to stay thanks to this week’s opening of the Nativ Hotel in the city’s trendy LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhood.

Colorado has long been at the forefront of the nationwide cannabis acceptance movement thanks to its first-in-the-nation-to-legalize status. The opening of the new, cannabis-friendly boutique hotel only further establishes the state as a standard-setter in matters pertaining to marijuana legalization.

“We have something for everyone here at Nativ,” said Mike Alexander (photo above), who co-owns the hotel alongside partner Richmond Meyer.

“We have door bells on rooms, living plant walls on our outdoor patios where guests can consume marijuana on their stays, the Stereo Lounge in the basement, and original art work throughout the hotel. We even have a coffee bar specializing in CBD infused lattes.”

The first Denver hotel to publicly allow use of marijuana on the premises, The Nativ’s name is a nod to the fact that they want every guest to feel like a native Coloradan during their stay.

“We chose the name Nativ because we want everyone—no matter where they are from—to feel as if they are a native Coloradan while they are here.”

Reported Meyer.

“Our goal is to allow everyone to have an awesome time for however long they stay with us.”

Whether from Colorado or not, guests will surely feel comfortable when they arrive at The Nativ, thanks to an abundance of special features and accommodations for the cannabis-inclined.

Nativ guest rooms all feature luxurious glass showers, and the hotel’s champagne suites take it a step further, offering self-cleaning hot tubs and the owners’ re-imagined version of the mini-bar. Deemed the “Monsieur Bartender,” (photo below) this special pour system gives guests the ability to mix as many as 800 different combinations of specialty cocktails without even leaving their rooms.

Last weekend, the hotel hosted what they called “Three Days of Understanding” to introduce the local community to the cannabis-themed hotel and its many notable features. Festivities started Thursday, May 28, 2015, with a grand opening celebration and continued through Saturday, May 30, 2015. Big crowds are expected as the hotel owners break new ground and become the first hotel to openly accept marijuana use by guests visiting Colorado.
